Description   Half-length portrait of Irish actress Joan O'Hara, in a publicity still for the RTE Television drama 'Two Lives: A Mother's Love is a Blessing', during filming in Tibradden House, Rathfarnham, County Dublin in June 1994. She is holding a birthday cake on which candles have been lit and is smiling to camera.

'Two Lives' consisted of a number of individual dramas featuring two actors or actresses in each one. 'A Mother's Love is a Blessing' was a first play for television, written by novelist Pat McCabe. The piece was a black comedy about the lengths to which a son will go to get rid of his mother. It was broadcast by RTE 1 on 15 September 1994 with Charlie McCarthy directing and David Blake Knox producing. The series producer was Michael Colgan. 'A Mother's Love is a Blessing' won a special recommendation at the Prix Futura in Berlin (1995) and the Short Drama award at the Celtic Film and Television Festival in Fortwilliam, also in 1995.
