Description   European leaders and dignitaries gather for a photocall at Dublin Castle, during an EEC (European Economic Community, now the EU) summit held there on 3 December 1984. Standing in the front row, from left to right, are; Greek Prime Minister Andreas Papandreou, British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, French President Francois Mitterand and Irish Taoiseach Garret FitzGerald. The remaining attendees are arranged behind this group. President of the European Commission Gaston Thorn is standing behind Thatcher on the right (in red tie), while Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs Peter Barry is behind Thatcher and Thorn (grey hair and red tie). British Foreign Secretary Geoffrey Howe is at the very back on the right (wearing glasses).
