A view of the Ha'penny Bridge in Dublin City, looking west along the River Liffey, in 1970. The bridge is visible in the middle distance; buildings along Bachelor's Walk/Ormond Quay, north of the river, can be seen on the right of shot. This shot was taken by the RTE Stills Department for design reference use.
The Ha'penny Bridge was opened in 1816, officially as the Wellington Bridge. It acquired its name from the toll required to cross it - one halfpenny.
