Presenter Paul Russell applauds British pop group The Tremeloes, on the Telefís Éireann (RTÉ Television) popular music programme, 'The Showband Show', during programme recording in late 1963. From left to right; Paul Russell, Alan Howard (bass guitar), Alan Blakley (lead guitar and vocals) and Brian Poole (lead singer). The first episode of 'The Showband Show' was broadcast on 13 June 1963; it was briefly previewed in the RTV (RTÉ) Guide on 7 June 1963. Brian Poole and The Tremeloes appeared on the episode broadcast on 18 December 1963; it was previewed in a Guide article published on 13 December 1963. |
