Broadcaster John Murray (second right) with a student from Scoil Cholmcille in Termon, County Donegal, together with Deirdre Hynes and her father Philip Hynes, in the RTÉ Radio Centre on 29 May 2014. The student may be Áine McCaughan, Molly Gallagher or Maolíosa O’Toole.
Scoil Cholmcille were the winners of a nationwide competition organised by the Department of Education and Skills in Dublin and the Department of Education of Northern Ireland, called the ‘Decade of Centenaries All-Island Schools History Competition’. 6th class students from Scoil Cholmcille traced a World War I medal from where it was found in County Donegal to the soldier's family, the Hynes, in County Tipperary. The story featured in 'The John Murray Show' broadcast on 30 May 2014.
