Bishop Fulton Sheen, former Auxiliary Bishop of New York (1951-65), in an RTÉ television studio on 29 June 1968. Sheen is standing with his hands on his hips, looking at the programme's producer/director Denis O'Grady, who is standing beside him.
Bishop Sheen recorded a forty minute talk aimed at young people for broadcast by RTÉ. Entitled simply 'Bishop Fulton Sheen', it was televised on 3 October 1968. The RTÉ Guide published an article by Denis O'Grady on the bishop in its edition of 27 September 1968.
Bishop Sheen was known as America's 'television bishop'. He first broadcast in the late 1940s with the DuMont television network and broadcast his own programmes on local stations throughout America in the 1960s.
