British soldiers standing guard after they raided the Carlisle Building, D'Olier Street, Dublin 1921.
The Carlisle Building was then home of (Independent Newspapers) the 'Evening Herald'. It was located on the junction of Burgh Quay and D'Olier Street. It overlooked O'Connell Bridge and was built in 1815.
