Description   A view of mummified bodies in their coffins in the vaults of St Michan's Church of Ireland, on Church Street, Dublin city, in March 1973. St Michan's dates from 1685-86 and was built on the site of an earlier structure founded by the Danes in 1095. The church contains one of the oldest organs still in use in Ireland. Many of the leaders of the 1798 Rebellion are buried in the vaults and the surrounding graveyard.

This shot was taken for use in, or publicising of, the RTÉ Television magazine-style current affairs programme 'Tangents'. A broadcast date for the show that featured an item on St Michan's has not been ascertained.
