Description   The set of the television programme 'Echoland', a series of extracts Irish actor Patrick Bedford read from James Joyce's 'Finnegan's Wake' which were broadcast on 21 January 1964. The studio is in almost complete darkness, only the back wall of the set is illuminated. Patrick Bedford is standing (first left) on a ramp beside a set of pillars with short horizontal beams on top which reach over his head. Four members of the production crew stand below and behind him, one of whom is probably a cameraman. Studio lights hang from the ceiling.
