An RTÉ production crew film a scene for RTÉ Television's adaptation of the Somerville and Ross novel 'The Real Charlotte', during location filming at Furness House, County Kildare on 28 September 1966. A cameraman and boom microphone operator are both clearly visible on the left. Note the outside broadcast lorry in the background - it is labelled 'Radio Éireann Television Outside Broadcasts'.
'The Real Charlotte' was adapted in eight parts for RTÉ Television by Adrian Vale and Norman Smythe. The first episode was broadcast on 26 October 1966. Adrian Vale wrote an article on the series for the RTÉ Guide of 21 October 1966.
