A LUAS tram at Harcourt Street station, on 5 August 2004. The old railway station building, now the Odeon bar, is clearly visible on the right. A couple of passersby can also be seen. The tram is heading towards the St Stephen's Green terminus, on the LUAS Green Line.
LUAS (the Irish word for speed) is Dublin's public transport tram system. It runs on two separate tramlines, the Green Line and the Red Line. The Green Line (which opened on 30 June 2004) connects Sandyford to St Stephen's Green in the city centre. The Red Line (which opened on 28 September 2004) connects Tallaght to Connolly Station. Harcourt Street is the second stop outward bound on the Green Line.
