| Description |
Men operate a crane to pull down a dangerous wall of the Four Courts (background left) Dublin July 1922. It had been damaged, after the bombardment by the Free State Army, during the Civil War on 30 June 1922. The Four Courts derives its name from the traditional divisions of the Irish judicial system; Chancery, King's Bench, Exchequer, and Common Pleas. It was designed by James Gandon in the late eighteenth century. |
