Irish ventriloquist/puppeteer and broadcaster George Boyle, with two of his puppets 'Bran' (left, a puppy) and 'Toby' in 1963. This half-length shot shows George Boyle seated in an armchair smiling down at the puppets he his holding. 'Bran' is holding a piece of dark cloth perhaps about to place it over 'Toby'. There is a framed picture on the wall above and behind George Boyle. George Boyle (or Seoirse O Baoghill) appeared on several children's programmes on RTE in the early sixties including 'Tir na nOg' and his own show 'Seoirse agus Beartlai'. |
