Programme   Brandy Snap
Programme type
Description   Two actresses on the set of 'Brandy Snap', a variety show written by Fergus Linehan, Warren O'Connor and Mícheál Mac Liammóir, broadcast on RTE television on 18 March 1963. The programme comprised various comic sketches - the stage version had toured the country before running in Dublin, and was directed by Patrick Bedford who also starred in the television version. The actress on the right may be Eileen Murphy who also starred in 'Tolka Row', RTE's first television soap but this is not certain. In this shot both women are seated on armchairs dressed in coats and headscarves. The actress on the left is leaning her head on her companion's shoulder and is smoking a cigarette. They are both looking at a television camera which is partially visible on the right of shot. Other actresses who featured in 'Brandy Snap' included Ann Rowan, Mary Meagher and Ruth O'Meara. It was produced by Bert Budin.
