Sheila O'Grady (second left) with three of her daughters in the garden of their home in Terenure, Dublin in June 1962. From left to right, Geraldine O'Grady, Sheila O'Grady (Snr), Eily O'Grady and Sheila O'Grady (Jnr). All three daughters are musicians; Geraldine is a violinist, Eily a pianist and Shelia (Jnr) is also a violinist. This photograph was taken during a shoot to illustrate a brief article on the O'Gradys for an RTV Guide article published on 15 June 1962. The radio programme 'The O'Grady Ensemble' was a fifteen-minute programme of the four O'Grady sisters playing Irish airs; it was recorded at a recital given to the Waterford Music Club and broadcast on 20 June 1962. |
