Description |
RTÉ broadcaster Brendan O'Reilly on the set of the television programme 'The Life of O'Reilly' in 1965. He is sitting on a sofa examining a small figurine made out of metal. 'The Life of O'Reilly' was a weekly live music programme; it was first broadcast on 28 September 1965. These stills were taken during the recording of the first programme. The show was produced by Don Lenox who wrote an article about it for the RTV Guide of 24 September 1965. In addition to working as a broadcaster, Brendan O'Reilly was Irish high jump champion. He joined RTÉ as an announcer in 1961 and in addition to 'The Life of O'Reilly' in the 1960s, he presented RTÉ Television's flagship Saturday afternoon sports programme 'Sports Stadium' in the 1980s and 1990s. |
