Irish actor Cyril Cusack as Sir Jonah Barrington in 'I Stood Well With All Parties', a programme in the RTÉ Television series 'Facets Irish', broadcast on 18 April 1972. Sir Jonah Barrington was an Anglo-Irish landowner, barrister and politician from Abbeyleix, County Laois who was active in public life in Ireland in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. The 'Facets Irish' series examined the literary heritage associated with different parts of Ireland. 'I stood well with all parties' featured Cyril Cusack reading from Barrington's memoirs. An article on Sir Jonah Barrington appeared in the RTÉ Guide of 14 April 1972. |
