Description |
Three-quarter length portrait shot of journalist Mary Kenny in 1969. She was a reporter on the late night radio programme 'Later than Late' at the time this picture was taken. She is sitting on an office desk holding a microphone which is attached to a portable tape recorder, looking straight to camera. She is wearing a mini-skirt. Various posters are attached to the wall behind her - one reads 'If it's timid it's not today'. 'Later than Late' was initially presented by Bunny Carr and was designed to discuss items of interest that had featured in that evening's 'Late Late Show'. It seemed to evolve into a more magazine-style programme over time. Howard Kinlay was the producer. Mary Kenny was active in the Irish Women's Liberation Movement in the 1970s and now writes on religion and moral issues for various newspapers. |
