Description |
A view of the Garden of Remembrance in Dublin's Parnell Square in 1970. This is a small park, designed by Daithi Hanly as a dedication to the men and women who have died in the cause of Irish freedom. The central pool with benches arranged around it is clearly visible in this shot; the Irish flag can be seen in the background. This shot was taken by the RTE Stills Department for design reference use. The Garden of Remembrance was opened by President Eamon de Valera in 1966 on the fiftieth anniversary of the Easter Rising. |
