A view of the set used on 'Anthology: The Branchy Tree', during recording in RTE Television's Studio 1, on 29 December 1970. Irish actress Siobhan McKenna is standing mid shot in considerable shadow. Several abstract 'trees' are visible to the left and right of shot. The backdrop depicts clouds. 'The Branchy Tree' was broadcast by RTE Television as part of the 'Anthology' arts documentary series on 27 January 1971. It was adapted from Siobhan McKenna's one-woman stage show 'Here Be Ladies', which ran in Oxford, London and Belfast. The producer of the television version was Chloe Gibson (RTE's Head of Drama, 1965-71) - she wrote an article on the programme for the RTE Guide of 22 January 1971. Music was provided by Sean O Riada. |
