| Description |
RTÉ broadcaster, producer and environmentalist Dick Warner (left) interviews Noel Shiels, who is fishing at an unidentified Irish river or lake, during the recording of the weekly RTÉ Radio series 'The Weekend Angler' in 1977. Noel Shiels worked in the RTÉ Sound Library at this time and was a keen fisherman. Both men are standing knee-deep in water; Warner is holding a microphone and recorder. Rushes and foliage can be seen behind them. 'The Weekend Angler', presented and produced by Dick Warner, was first broadcast on RTÉ Radio on 22 May 1977. It featured news and information of interest to anglers. An RTÉ Guide article on the series was published on 20 May 1977. |
