A publicity shot for the Christmas edition of RTÉ Television's 'Fortycoats', taken in RTÉ's Montrose grounds in Donnybrook, in November 1984. The cast, who are in costume, are from left to right; Vincent Smith as Utterly Bonkers, Annie Kilmartin as Totally Bonkers, Fran Dempsey as Fortycoats, Conal Kearney as Sofar Sogood, Laurie Morton as the Whirligig Witch, Barbara McNamara as The Princess and Gerry O'Brien as Sir Dashing the Bold, holding a Jack Russell dog. All are standing in front of a tree, in which a large puppet of a bird (Demented Chicken) can be seen; he was played by Davy Byrne. This episode of 'Fortycoats' was entitled 'The Christmas Wishes' and was broadcast on Christmas Day 1984. 'Fortycoats' was first broadcast on 7 January 1983. |
