Broadcaster Din Joe (Denis Fitzgibbon) presents the Telefís Éireann (RTÉ Television) programme 'Be My Guest', in a shot taken for the RTÉ Guide during studio recording in the autumn of 1966. The woman beside him is unidentified. A television camera is clearly visible on the right of shot. 'Be My Guest' was a fortnightly show, featuring musical guests from the Irish traditional music scene. The first programme in this series of 'Be My Guest' was broadcast on 30 September1966; an RTÉ Guide preview was published on 24 September 1966 while a further article appeared on 4 November 1966. Din Joe was probably best-known as the presenter of the RTÉ Radio traditional music programme 'Take the Floor'. |
