Broadcaster Seán Duignan, sitting at the microphone in an RTÉ radio studio on 3 December 1971. Two microphones and a control panel are visible in this shot. This still was taken for use in, or publicising of, RTÉ television's 'News Roundup of 1971', broadcast on 1 January 1972. Sean Duignan wrote a background note to the programme in the RTÉ Guide of 31 December 1971. He also wrote and presented the programme. Seán Duignan has worked in RTÉ as a newsreader, reporter and presenter since joining the station in 1963. He was also press secretary to the Fianna Fáil coalition government from 1992 to 1995, before returning to RTÉ as a newsreader and presenter of 'The Week in Politics'. |
