| Description |
A view of the Irish girl group Maxi, Dick and Twink, performing during the recording of the first programme in the RTÉ Television series 'The Hour for Music' in Studio 1 in 1967. From left to right; Barbara Dixon (later Barbara Law, stage name Dick), Adele King (Twink) and Irene McCoubrey (Maxi). Dixon is playing a tambourine, Twink an acoustic guitar and Maxi a pair of maracas. The trio were billed under their real names for this programme, not as Maxi, Dick and Twink. 'The Hour for Music' was broadcast monthly; the first programme was televised on 15 October 1967. The RTÉ Guide published an article on the programme in its edition of 13 October 1967; stills from this shoot were used to illustrate that article. |
