Muiris Mac Conghail, editor and producer of RTÉ Television's current affairs programme '7 Days' (1967-1971), in a publicity shot taken in the RTÉ Stills Studio in 1967. '7 Days' ran from 1966 to 1976. Mac Conghail joined RTÉ in 1964 and edited and produced RTÉ Television's current affairs programme '7 Days' (1967-1971). He became Head of Features and Current Affairs, Radio (1971-'73) and Controller of Programmes at RTÉ 1 (1977-'86); he was also Controller of Programmes at Raidió na Gaeltachta. He left RTÉ for a time to serve as Assistant Secretary at the Department of the Taoiseach (1973-'75). He left altogether in 1986 to become an independent film producer. |
