RTÉ broadcaster Pádraic O'Neill (also known as Paddy O'Brien) photographed for the RTÉ Guide in September/October 1968. Stills from this shoot accompanied a Guide article on new RTÉ Radio programming, published on 1 November 1968. O'Neill joined the Radio Éireann players as an actor in 1951. He subsequently joined the Variety and Drama Department working on programmes such as 'Take the Floor' and 'The School Around the Corner'. He later became a Current Affairs producer and was appointed Deputy Head of RTÉ Radio's Features and Current Affairs Department in 1973. A short piece on his appointment appeared in the RTÉ Guide on 1 June 1973. As Paddy O'Brien, he broadcast on greyhound racing and did commmentaries for many years. |
