An exterior view of the Divis Flats complex in West Belfast, in October 1982. Three blocks of flats can be seen in all. The foreground of this shot is in considerable shade. This still was taken for use in RTE News bulletins. Construction of Divis Flats began in the late 1960s as a response to the housing crisis in West Belfast. Demolition of the blocks started in 1986; the only building now remaining in the complex is Divis Tower. |
