Description |
Broadcaster and agony aunt Frankie Byrne in January 1981. A still from this shoot was used to illustrate an RTÉ Guide interview with Byrne, as part of a special Valentine's Day issue published on 13 February 1981. Frankie Byrne joined RTÉ Radio in 1963 and presented 'Dear Frankie' from then until the programme ended in 1985. Byrne read out listeners' letters, dispensed advice and only played Frank Sinatra records on the show. Together with Gordon Lambert, she initiated the Jacob's broadcasting awards and was involved in their promotion through her own company. |
