A scene from the RTÉ Television drama 'The Lads', during filming in Studio 1 in November 1972. From left to right; David Byrne as Andy, Emmet Bergin as Nick, Jim Bartley as Oliver and James Caffrey as Myles. 'The Lads' was originally written for the stage by Joe O'Donnell, and generated some controversy in its portrayal of four Dublin bachelors and the effect a visit from a woman researcher has on them. RTÉ televised it on 8 December 1972; Joe O'Donnell wrote about the play for the RTÉ Guide of 1 December 1972. |
