RTÉ broadcaster Ryle Nugent, in a publicity shot taken for RTÉ Television's young people's sports programme 'The Grip', at UCD's sports grounds at Belfied in August 1994. He is leaning on a steeplechase hurdle. Ryle Nugent later became a rugby commentator for RTÉ and was appointed Head of RTÉ Sport in 2010. 'The Grip' ran from 1994 to 1998. The first episode was broadcast on 12 September 1994 with Ray Heayberd and Anthony Sellers producing and directing. |
