American singer/songwriter Don McLean, performing on stage at the Siamsa Cois Laoi music festival in Cork on 15 July 1979. He is singing and playing acoustic guitar. The RTÉ Guide's music columnist interviewed McLean at this event; the resulting article was published on 21 September 1979 and featured several stills from this shoot. Don McLean is best-known for his 1971 song 'American Pie'. The Siamsa Cois Laoi music festival was an annual event, held in Cork's Páirc Uí Chaoimh during the 1970s and 1980s. |
