Fine Gael TD Hugh Coveney in Leinster House, Dublin, in May 1983. This still was taken for use in RTÉ News bulletins. Hugh Coveney served in the Dáil for the constituency of Cork South-Central from 1981-February 1982, November 1982-87 and November 1994 (by-election) until his death in 1998. He was Minister for Defence and Minister for the Marine from December 1994 until his resignation in May 1995. He was Lord Mayor of Cork from 1982-83. |
