Three members of U2 at the start of the National Milk Run, in Dublin's Phoenix Park on 9 March 1980. From left to right; lead singer Bono (Paul Hewson), drummer Larry Mullen and bass player Adam Clayton. All three are wearing Milk Run t-shirts. This run was an annual charity event sponsored by the National Dairy Council. It took place at various venues throughout the country, with a six-mile course at the Phoenix Park being the principal race. Stills from this shoot were published in the RTÉ Guide's 'Sound and Vision' music column on 21 March 1980, in a brief picture report on the event. Some background information on the Milk Run appeared in the 'Sound and Vision' column of 7 March 1980. |
