A comedy sketch in progress on stage in Dublin's Gaiety Theatre, during the recording of RTÉ Television's variety series 'Tip of the Tops', in June 1982. All four men are dressed as road workers. 'Tip of the Tops' was a six-part series which featured acts from some of the groups participating in the amateur variety competition 'John Player Tops of the Town'. The first programme in the series was broadcast on 8 October 1982 - Tom McGrath produced and directed. The RTÉ Guide of 1 October 1982 published an article on the series as part of its coverage of the autumn schedule. |
