Broadcaster David Hanly at the microphone in an RTÉ Radio studio, in a shot taken for the RTÉ Guide in August 1985. There are several newspapers spread out on the table in front of him. He may be presenting RTÉ Radio 1's 'Morning Ireland' in this shot. David Hanly joined RTÉ as a Radio Éireann journalist in 1963, a position he held until 1970. He left RTÉ to become a publicity officer with Bord Fáilte and a freelance writer, but rejoined the station in 1981 and went on to present the current affairs radio programme 'Morning Ireland' in 1984. He also presented an award-winning series of television interviews, 'Hanly's People' in the 1980s. |
