RTÉ broadcaster David Hanly in a shot taken for the RTÉ Guide in August 1988. He was a presenter on RTÉ Radio 1's weekday morning current affairs programme 'Morning Ireland' at the time. The Guide published an article about the programme on 23 September 1988. David Hanly joined RTÉ as a Radio Éireann journalist in 1963, a position he held until 1970. He left RTÉ to become a publicity officer with Bord Fáilte and a freelance writer, but rejoined the station in 1981 and went on to present the current affairs radio programme 'Morning Ireland' in 1984. He also presented an award-winning series of television interviews, 'Hanly's People' in the 1980s. |
