The nine-strong group Ceoltóirí Laighean perform on the RTÉ Television traditional Irish music programme, 'Meitheal', during programme recording before a live audience at Clonliffe College, Dublin, in March 1973. From left to right; Eamon de Buitléar on bodhrán, Peter Phelan on uilleann pipes, unidentified, Mary Bergin on tin whistle, unidentified, fiddle players John Kelly and Paddy Glackin, an unidentified accordion player and Aileen McCrann on harp. The first episode in this series of 'Meitheal' was broadcast on 24 February 1973; this shot was taken during recording of a special St Patrick's Day edition of the programme broadcast on 17 March 1973. It was previewed in the RTÉ Guide on 16 March 1973. |
