First prize winner of the Francis MacManus Radio Short Story Award, Brian Layden in the RTÉ Sports and Social Club in November 1988. Brian Layden received a trophy and £1000 for his story 'The Last of the Mining Villages'. A picture of the event with an accompanying article was published in the RTÉ staff magazine 'Access' on 15 December 1988. |
