An orchestrion that featured on RTÉ Television's 'Treasure Ireland', photographed during programme recording in Dunkathel (also known as Dunkettle) House in Glanmire, County Cork, in July 1993. An orchestrion is a machine designed to replicate the sound of an orchestra or band. 'Treasure Ireland' was an eight-part series on antiques and collectibles in Ireland. The orchestrion featured on the episode broadcast on 12 December 1993; two more programmes from Dunkathel House were broadcast on 31 October and 5 December 1993. The RTÉ Guide previewed the series on 22 October 1993. |
