An RTÉ production crew set up a shot outside the Kerry Co-operative (Co-op) dairy processing plant in Listowel, County Kerry, in June 1980. From left to right; presenter/reporter Colm Keane, production assistant Una Claffey, electrician Eddie Bolger, sound operator Brendan Deasy, cameraman Seamus Deasy (Brendan's brother) and producer/director Gerry Gregg. This shot was taken during the filming of RTÉ Television's 'A Future in Mind', an eight-part series in which young people employed in the growth areas of Irish industry talked about their work. Kerry Co-op (it became Kerry Group plc in 1986) featured in the programme broadcast on 11 November 1980, which focused on jobs in the food industry. The RTÉ Guide previewed the entire series on 10 October 1980. |
