British singer/songwriter Lynsey de Paul performs during RTÉ Television coverage of the 1989 People in Need Telethon, in Studio 1 on 21 April that year. Generally held every two years, the Telethon is a charity fund-raiser. The 1989 Telethon raised approximately £2.3 million. The RTÉ Guide previewed the show in its issue of 21 April 1989, while the RTÉ staff magazine 'Access' published a report on the day's activities on 11 May 1989. |
