Description |
Irish singer Dana performs as a guest during the 1974 National Song Contest in Studio 1 on 10 February 1974. The National Song Contest selected a song to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest. The 1974 National Song Contest differed from other years in that one singer sang all eight competing songs; the winner was chosen by viewers' postal votes. All eight songs were performed on RTÉ Television's 'The Likes of Mike' on 2 February 1974, while the contest itself was broadcast as part of the final programme in the series on 10 February 1974. The RTÉ Guide published articles previewing and reporting on the aftermath of the National Song Contest on 8 and 15 February 1974 respectively. |
