Description |
The cast, writers and producer of the RTÉ Radio musical drama 'The Pied Piper', during rehearsals in Studio 9 of the RTÉ Radio Centre on 27 October 1992. This musical was written by Bernard Farrell with music and lyrics by Donovan and was first broadcast on RTÉ Radio 1 on 26 December 1992. From left to right; Laurence Foster (producer/director, in white shirt with back to camera), Bernard Farrell (back to camera), actors Daniel Reardon (who played Councillor), Scott Fredericks (as Dr Verner), Donovan (who also played the Pied Piper in this production), Conor Farrington (Br Malachy), child actor Barry Glennon (as Cormac), unidentified (possibly Rory Keenan as Karl), Spike Milligan (as the Burgermeister), Colette Proctor (as Mother), Cathryn Brennan (as Ilsa) and Naomi Coleman (as one of the Children of Hamelin). The three young girls in the right background are unidentified. 'The Pied Piper' was the first radio drama to be compiled and edited on digital computer. The RTÉ Guide previewed it on 18 December 1992 and the RTÉ staff magazine 'Access' also published an article about it on 17 December 1992. |
