Fianna Fáíl TD Gerard (Gerry) Collins on 27 November 1968. This still was taken during a shoot of Dáil Éireann TDs, for possible use in RTÉ News bulletins. Gerry Collins was first elected to the Dáil for the consituency of Limerick West in 1967. He served as Minister for Posts and Telegraphs 1970-1973, Justice 1977-1981, Foreign Affairs March-December 1982, Justice 1987-1989 and Foreign Affairs again from 1989- 1992. He was elected an MEP for Munster in 1994 (re-elected 1999) and retired from the Dáil in 1996. |
