The judges of the RTÉ/Mitchelstown Creativity Awards, during the recording of the five-part RTÉ Radio 1 series, 'Images of My Environment', based on entries received for this competition, in an RTÉ Radio studio on 22 May 1990. From left to right; journalist Christina Murphy (deputy editor and Education Correspondent of 'The Irish Times'), Michael Lovett (Deputy Chief Executive of Mitchelstown Co-op), Irish actor Mick Lally, Chairperson Mary Corcoran (senior producer, RTÉ Radio Drama) and Maev Conway-Piskorski (Head of Educational Programmes at RTÉ). The first programme in the series was broadcast on 2 June 1990; the RTÉ Guide published a very brief preview on its radio listings pages in the issue of 1 June 1990. The RTÉ/Mitchelstown Creativity Awards were open to students in primary and secondary schools. The RTÉ staff magazine 'Access' published a report on these awards in its issue of 14 June 1990. |
