Drawings of a swimsuit designed by Irish fashion designer Catherine Treacy, one of the entrants in the 'Eurofashion '68' competition, photographed for the RTÉ Guide in January/early February 1968. 'Eurofashion' was a competition to select the young Irish designer of the year, who then went on to represent Ireland at the European finals which were held in London on 21 March 1968. RTÉ Television broadcast the Irish final of the competition on 13 February 1968, but it is unclear whether or not it was live. An article on the 1968 contest appeared in the RTÉ Guide of 9 February 1968; stills from this shoot were used to illustrate that article. |
