Members of the Irish jury for the 12th Eurovision Song Contest, photographed for the RTÉ Guide in March/April 1967. A similar still to this one was published in the Guide issue of 7 April 1967 to accompany an article on that year's competition. RTÉ Television and RTÉ Radio broadcast the contest live on 8 April 1967. Ireland was placed 2nd in the 1967 Eurovision Song Contest. Sitting in the front row, from left to right, are; Mrs Brigid Crowley (housewife), Yvonne Kearns (secretary), Dana Hearne (research assistant) and Bernadine O'Neill (university graduate). Standing in the back row, from left to right, are; John Moore (disc jockey), Mary Braid (musician), Billy Blood-Smith (solicitor), Gay Byrne (broadcaster and secretary of the jury), BP (Bernard Patrick) Fallon (broadcaster, disc jockey and music journalist), Patrick Ford (chairman of the commitee of the Rathmines and Rathgar Musical Society) and Phil Kavanagh (former president of the Bohemians' Musical Society). |
