Description |
The production crew from the RTÉ Television drama 'Heritage', during filming in June 1975. The action in this play centred on a day in the life of a part-time soldier in South Fermanagh. Ben Gibson is operating the boom microphone on the car bonnet, camera grip Patrick (Paddy) Keogh is first left in the foreground (hand on hip), Jim Coughlan of RTÉ Film Sound is in the centre foreground (pipe in his mouth). Sound recordist Bobby Bell is second left in the background (with headphones), beside Stuart Hetherington who is taking a still photograph. The three women standing in the right background are, from left to right, production assistant Janet Wynne, director Deirdre Friel and production assistant Kitty Mullany (later Ó Mórdha). Irish actor Frank Kelly who played Cassidy in this production, is second right (behind milk churns) while floor manager Bob Collins is first right (wearing a cowboy hat). The remaining people in shot are unidentified. 'Heritage' was the second part of Eugene McCabe's Northern Ireland trilogy of plays, 'Victims'. 'Heritage' was screened on 20 October 1976. A brief RTÉ Guide article on 'Heritage' was published on 15 October 1976. |
