Eamonn Andrews (left) and fellow broadcaster Gay Byrne, on stage at the Country Club, Portmarnock, County Dublin, on 5 September 1975. Andrews presented Byrne with the International Award of the Variety Club of Ireland at this venue. RTÉ Television news broadcast a short item on the presentation in its bulletin of 6 September 1975. The RTÉ Guide published a brief account in its edition of 12 September 1975; this still accompanied the article. |
